LIONE , città dei murales

Lione è una delle città più grandi della Francia, è situata all'incrocio tra il Rodano e la Saona ed così bella e vivace da essere soprannominata Piccola Parigi.


Lione divenne una ricca città industriale durante il Rinascimento, sotto il regno di Luigi XI, quando fu creata la prima industria manufatturiera della seta. La grande abilità dei canuts, i setaioli lionesi, ha fatto di Lione la capitale della seta ed ancora oggi la città è uno dei centri principali della lavorazione di questo tessuto. Celebri sono i trompe-oeil disseminati in molte zone della città. Questi murales raffiguranti momenti di vita quotidiana sono stati dichiarati Patrimonio dell'Unesco.
Negli anni settanta a Lione un gruppo di giovani pittori, sostenuti dal sindaco Michel Noir, dà vita al gruppo Cité Création con l'obiettivo di decorare i muri per rendere la città un posto meno triste ed incolore.
I murales più celebri sono quelli del Mur des Canuts, che raffigurano persne di Lione intente nelle loro attività quotidiane, e La fresque des Lyonnais, un murales di 800 m2 di superficie, che rappresenta 24 personaggi storici lionesi e 6 personaggi contemporanei. l'opera è stata realizzata tra il 1994 e il 1995 da Cité Création.
Una curiosità: in tutti i murales in giro per la città non manca mai un cane accucciato, segno evidente di un rapporto più che saldo tra i francesi e i loro amici a quattro zampe.



Lyon is one of the largest cities in France, located at the crossroads between the Rhone and the Saône and it is so beautiful and lively that it is nicknamed Little Paris.


Lyon became a wealthy industrial city during the Renaissance, under the reign of Louis XI, when the first silk manufacturing industry was created. The great skill of the canuts, the Lyon silk workers, has made Lyon the capital of silk and even today the city is one of the main centers for processing this fabric. Famous are the trompe-oeil works disseminated in many areas of the city. These murals depicting moments of everyday life have been declared UNESCO World Heritage.
In the 70s in Lyon a group of young painters, supported by the mayor Michel Noir, gave life to the group Cité Création with the aim of decorating the building walls to make the city a less sad and colorless place.
The most famous murals are those of the Mur des Canuts, which depict the Lyon's people  in their daily activities, and la fresque des Lyonnais is, a mural of 800 m2 of surface, which represents 24 historical figures from Lyon and 6 contemporary figures. The work was executed between 1994 and 1995 by Cité Création.


A curiosity: in all the murals around the city there is always a crouched dog, a clear sign of the solid relationship between the French and their four-legged friends.
