SOTTOPENTOLA DA VECCHI STROFINACCI

Avevo vecchi strofinacci che non usavo ma che mi dispiaceva buttare e guardando su internet ho trovato una buona soluzione per riciclarli.

I had old cloths that I did not use but that I didn't want to throw away and looking on the internet I found a good solution to recycle them.

Per prima cosa allargate bene lo strofinaccio e dividetelo in strisce da 3 cm sfruttando il lato più lungo. Non devono essere strisce perfette ma io mi sono aiutata segnando dei puntini con l'aiuto di riga e pennarello

First of all, roll out the cloth well and divide it into 3 cm strips using the longer side. The strips don't need to be perfect, but I spotted some  dots with the help of a ruler and a marker

Cucite insieme le prime 3 strisce

Sew the first  3 strips together

Intrecciatele fino in fondo e poi continuate a fare la treccia cucendo una striscia all'estemità delle strisce della treccia. Non preoccupatevi se il tessuto si sfilaccia perché alla fine il risultato avrà un effetto un po' grezzo ma molto carino.

 Weave them together  and then continue to make a braid by stitching a strip to the end of the braid strips. Do not worry if the fabric is frayed because in the end the result will have a rough but very nice effect.

Fate una treccia di circa 2.5/3m e poi cucite insieme le strisce finali. Se non avranno tutte la stessa lunghezza, non tagliate perchè utilizzerete le diverse lunghezze per nascondere la cucitura finale.

 Make a braid of about 2.5 / 3m and then sew the final strips together. If they don't all have the same length, do not cut them because you will use the different lengths to hide the final seam.

Arrotolate su se stessa la treccia e con ago e filo bloccate subito il primo giro. Continuate ad arrotolare la treccia fino in fondo. Si otterrà un sottopentola di circa 15 cm di diametro.

 Roll the braid on itself and with a needle and sewing thread  the first circle. Continue to roll the braid to the end. A trivet of about 15 cm of diameter will be obtained.

Procedendo a raggiera, cucite tutti i giri della treccia unendoli a 4/5 per volta e fissate la parte finale, eliminando la parte in eccesso del tessuto.

 Proceeding in a radial pattern, sew all the circles of the braid, joining them 4/5 at a time and fixing the final part, eliminating the excess part of the fabric.
